Passion for Treehouses – The Cassandra Park Treehouse

The Challenge:
Eight year old Sarah just wanted her treehouse to have a balcony and be big enough for a sleepover.

The Solution:
We also designed it for user-safety, tree-health and structural integrity.

Far from simple and naive structures constructed haphazardly by children, well designed treehouses combine sophisticated structural solutions to unique situations (every tree is different) and critical functional requirments unlike any other type of building.

And far from being just for kids and back yards, treehouses make great eco- and adventure tourism facilities, hotels, camps, cottages and nature classrooms. We are turned on by the challenges and possibilities of treehouses for "kids" of all ages.

FORT’s expertise comes from hands-on treehouse construction workshops, treehouse conferences, travel, research and networking with arborists, treehouse builders, engineers and hotel and tourism operators.

The Treehouse Workshop - Seattle

The treehouse, above, was built at the TreeHouse WorkShop’s annual, hands-on, treehouse construction workshop. Many thanks to them for permission to use the photographs. To link to their website, click here www.treehouseworkshop.com
